Flora Gamez Grateron was born in Texas but has lived in Arizona for nearly thirty years. She is a second-generation Mexican American. Her first book, Through the Door, Cuentos de Casa was published in 2023. She was a contributing author in the anthology Our Spirit, Our Reality: Celebrating Our Stories, published in 2012. She received her degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson and taught English/Language Arts in middle schools in both the private and public sectors. Flora retired in 2020. She is the mother of four fabulous adult kids.
